Data Deletion Instructions

PostShield acts as a social media moderation tool, which means we process data from Third-Party Social Media Services like Meta (Facebook and Instagram). If you wish to delete your account or remove PostShield's access to your data, please follow the step-by-step instructions below.
1. Disconnecting PostShield from Your Facebook/Meta Account
If you want to stop PostShield from accessing your Facebook Page or Instagram account, you can remove our app directly from your Meta/Facebook settings. This will immediately revoke our API access.
- Log in to your Facebook account and click on your profile picture in the top right corner to go to Settings & Privacy > Settings.
- Depending on your account interface, navigate to Business Integrations or Security and Login > Apps and Websites.
- Find PostShield in the list of active integrations.
- Click Remove and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm.
2. Deleting Your PostShield Account and Data
Removing the app from Facebook stops future data collection, but to completely delete your existing data from our servers, you need to delete your PostShield account.
Option A (In-App):
Log in to your PostShield dashboard.
Navigate to your Account Settings and click on the Delete Account button.
Confirm your choice to instantly schedule your data for deletion.Option B (By Email):
Send an email to hello@postshield.io from the email address associated with your PostShield account, with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We will manually process your request and securely delete your data within 30 days.
3. What Data Gets Deleted?
Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will permanently and irreversibly delete:
- Your personal account information (name, email, password hashes).
- All stored comments, text analyses, AI moderation logs, and metadata fetched from your social media pages.
- Any custom moderation rules, keywords, or settings you created within PostShield.
4. Data Retention Exceptions
Please note that for legal, tax, and accounting purposes, we may be required to retain certain financial and billing records (such as past invoices and payment history) for a longer period (up to 10 years), as outlined in our Privacy Policy. This retained data is strictly isolated, securely encrypted, and not used for any operational or marketing purposes.
